The first time I watched this trailer for The Double, I just got so very excited and exhilarated to share it with you all!!! (<- See those exclamation points! <- And that one 🙂 O.K., I’ll stop now.) One thing I love about this film’s trailer is the different feels it gives off, stemming from the absolutely bloody brilliant direction from Richard Ayoade and excellent mood setting and acting from the ever eager Jesse Eisenberg, who pulls it off to play both Simon and Simon’s double. The Double is based on the novella by the Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Watch the trailer up above & re-watch & re-watch & re watch….(You get the point, no? 😉 )
Release date: May 9, 2014
Simon is a timid man, scratching out an isolated existence in an indifferent world. He is overlooked at work, scorned by his mother, and ignored by the woman of his dreams. He feels powerless to change any of these things. The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance. James is both Simon’s exact physical double and his opposite – confident, charismatic and good with women. To Simon’s horror, James slowly starts taking over his life.
